In Conclusion
On behalf of our blog team, we would like to thank you all individuals who contributed to our blog. The comments have helped us stimulate interest and provide credibility to our blog. As a group, we learned blogging is very time consuming and requires maintenance. We also learned that blogging is a great tool for reaching your target audience.
Abstinence is the only 100 percent way to prevent STD transmission and unwanted pregnancy. Should high schools pass out condoms?? Or is this condoning deviant behavior??

You're nice and all, but...
So, you meet a guy or girl and you're really feeling them. You two are just talking and hanging out, then a couple of months later, after feelings have developed, you two are in the bed and things get heated. They stop you and tell you that they have herpes. Do you continue? Or stop them dead in their tracks? If you do decide to stop them, what do you say?

Lights Camera Action
By now I am sure most of you have seen the GYT commercials. Everyone loves to have celebrities endorse their products or special events. Presently my colleagues and I are planning events of our own and have asked Hollywood's finest for their support. But do celebrities help a cause, or do they distract from the overall message? Let's say Soulja Boy wasn't in the GYT advertisements. Do you think young people would still be aware of what GYT is? Or would they be like many out there who are scratching their heads and asking themselves WTF is GYT?

Forgive and forget?
So you are in a "monogamous" relationship and decide to have unprotected sex. Let's say that your partner (boyfriend/girlfriend) gives you an STD. Would this situation terminate the relationship? Or do you believe in second chances?

If not on the first date, then when?
When starting a new relationship, when is it appropriate to tell your partner you are positive for an STD? Should you tell them at all?
Introduction
Hello fellow bloggers, we have constructed this site for a PR course at Florida A&M University. Each author of the blog has been assigned to plan and promote a fictitious event. All of the authors will post questions, thoughts and opinions regarding various aspects of the events being planned.
The PR Methods course is a class designed to expose students to the various tools used by public relation professionals. Each student is required to create a media kit, maintain a blog and construct an online press room. The required textbook is entitled "Public Relations Writing" by Doug Newsom and Jim Haynes.
Hello my name is Issac Morgan and I will plan and promote an STD awareness fundraiser for the Florida Department of Health. "Battle for your life" is a rap battle in which participants will compete to earn prizes by formulating lyrics related to STD awareness. The proceeds of the event will go towards the funding of the soap opera, "As the World Burns."
Cederrick Ashley will be planning the S.E.A Survivors program in partnership with the Florida Department of Health. S.E.A. stands for sexual education and awareness. At this event college students and young people ages 18 to 24 will board a ship for a half day cruise. The purpose of the event is to educate young people on the risks involved with unprotected sex.
Hey! I am Bianca Fletcher, a fourth-year public relations major from Kansas City, KS. I am planning an all white pajama party called "Sleep Tight In All White." At this party, the Florida Department of Health will be unveiling a brand new, innovative, interactive website with hopes of educating college students about the steadily growing rates of STD's among African American students in college.
